ECHOES - 1985
S Y N O P S I S
‘Echoes’ provided an ephemeral gateway to an eternal world.
The performance transported the audience to a typical Lebanese village in the days when children were taught to read and write by singing by rote. The boys carried logs to give to the teacher as firewood to warm the freezing classroom. The girls sat separately, also in order of height. The teacher took his students on a fictional contemporary and historical voyage around the world. This traditional folklore odyssey was expressed through colourful dance tableaus on stage.

L’ORIENT-LE JOUR
Revoir Caracalla
