THE BLACK TENTS - 1978
S Y N O P S I S
Caracalla’s The Black Tents has won a place of honour in the dance world of the Middle East.
The Black Tents was inspired by those very tents that house the timeless way of life of a people famed for their hospitality, honour, and nobility of spirit: the Bedouin.
The story revolves around the attempt of two feuding tribes to end their hostility through the marriage of the son and daughter of each chieftain. The arranged marriage of the juvenile groom and the shrewd bride does not go well even though peace depends upon their union. The day of the ceremony, bride and groom meet for the first time. The plot thickens, our love story begins.

EVENING NEWS
Arabian night of magic
A show where a tantalising eastern promise is amply fulfilled. The Beirut-based Caracalla Dance Company, which presents it, are the first Arab troupe to visit Britain. And we have seen nothing quite like it before - a Bedouin extravaganza of the Arabian desert which stunningly evokes all the exotic allure of Sinbad and Scheherazade from 1001 Nights. Spectacularly robed Arab resplendent with stuffed falcons and plywood swords and beautiful dark-eyes women, contribute to a show brimful of scented charm.
